the great debate
Okay guys, I need some opinions. As you may or may not have gathered by reading my blog (haha) my job is pretty mundane, but pays well.
I have been perusing the 'in-network' job postings lately and came across the following posting, which I am qualified for and is also still in Tucson.
"Job Description:
The primary duties for entry-level staff is focused on modeling, simulation and/or analysis. Specific tasks vary depending on educational background and experience. Potential tasks include: Work closely with program and business development staff to develop concepts of operation for weapon systems. Develop and maintain models of products in company-developed and government-developed engagement simulations. Evaluate warhead lethality and effectiveness using government models and simulations. Conduct weapon system performance trade studies, mission effectiveness and survivability evaluations, operational utility analyses and comparative weapon system assessments. Assess weapon system vulnerability to countermeasures and threat systems. Derive top-level weapon system requirements as driven by mission objectives and operational factors. Create state-of-the-art visualizations for weapons in a virtual combat environment. Develop middleware to support a distributed simulation environment. Support project/study leader with responsibility to meet project milestones, schedule and budget. Interface with internal and external customers. Work is closely supervised. Follows specific, detailed instructions. Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope."
Now the question is, should I actually pursue it? I've been here not even a year yet and have just gotten my feet wet (apparently) so I'm not sure it is the smartest thing to do... Help me out here. You too Adam.
